Come see the corruption inherit in the system!

Monday, January 24th, 2005

So, a friend of mine sent me an article about a senator who just can’t keep it in his pants. Now, this article is nothing special, but I found some really interesting points in it.

  • A former employee of his won a sexual harassment case against him some year to 2 years after she birthed his child. Now, I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it seems really sketchy to have a sexual harassment suite against someone you had sex with. I guess she changed her mind when he made advances following their encounter? Or she filed for sexual harassment, then gave in to his guises? Considering the charge is sexual harassment, not rape or even sexual assault, one would have to consider the sex consentual. Then again, I don’t know Tenn. sex laws nor am I familiar with this suite, so it could be that was all that they could pin on him.
  • During their divorce, his ex-wife drove her car through his house. Yet he still lives with her (along with his other house that has his long time girlfriend in it). She still sees him daily. She is 6 months pregnant with his child.
  • He is using a law he authored to try to reduce his child support payments. On the surface, it sounds like an abuse of power. Granted, it doesn’t say when the law was written or passed, or any details regarding that information. Could be extremely coincidental. I could go research it, but eehh… not worth it.

Late Inspiration

Thursday, September 16th, 2004

Why is it that inspiration always hits me after the moment has passed?

Yesterday, someone from the office was introducing some auditors around. They came around to my cube and noticed that, despite being in a cube, I have a good view. First off, let me show you how the conversation went:

Auditor

Wow, you have a nice view from your cube. You must be special.

Mike

Well, I try to be.

Pretty lame, huh? It was not a scant 5 seconds later that a much better retort came to mind. I only wish the conversation had played out this way:

Auditor

Wow, you have a nice view from your cube. You must be special.

Mike

That’s what my mom tells me.

Proof: Love

how is love proven?
when hearts are groovin?
when lives are movin?
how do you know what you know?
how do you define what’s in your soul?

NGS? New Game Syndrome

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2003

Just a few more hours. A few more hours and I can rest feeling like I’ve accomplished something. Man this game is pretty. People are really nice. Hey why aren’t we killing these people? It’s what time? 1:30am? Oh shit I’ve got to get some sleep. But this game is so pretty. Will have to kill Mike later for getting me involved. Interface isn’t intuitive…but I can forgive it. Did I mention this game is pretty? Ok…got to get sleep before I pass out on keyboard.

As you are laying down to go to sleep, the first thought in your head is… can’t wait to play again tomorrow. Second thought is… I’m going to be useless at work tomorrow. Thanks god it’s Holiday Vacation time for all my customers so I can actually doze at work. Last thought is…

I’m going to kill Mike for getting me hooked on a new game.

Welcome to New Game Syndrome.
