It’s been 3 years…

Well, June 21st, the girlie and I celebrated 3 years. 3 years with a range of emotions, but always love.

To take a little time away, we went to Biscuit Hill Bed & Breakfast for a couple days. It was great. We stayed in the Lone Star Mini-Suite. It was very nice. I sprung for a spa kit that had all sorts of nice things, the best being the aromatherapy oil for the private hot tub. I also got us a Sweetheart Service that had some champagne but the best was the Roasted Blueberry Chipotle over cream cheese. This stuff was just outstanding. I must find some. I think I can find it at Costco. I have an email to the owner to find out.

We had a great time, very romantic. We had the whole place to ourselves. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub, drinking champagne and red table wine (which the B&B provides readily for their guests). We went swimming in Canyon Lake and took a walk on the dam with a great view of the lake. The girlie has some pictures I will be sharing later. We ate breakfast there, which was very tasty. For dinner we hit up the local restaurants. The mexican food place in Gruene was ok but the Huisache Grill in New Braunfels was outstanding. Great grilled food. A bit pricey, but hey, anniversaries are no time to pinch pennies. It was worth it. Surprisingly light for Texas food. The best thing imho was the “Crème Brulee with fresh ginger & blueberry swirl”. Very tasty stuff. I’m not a huge ginger fan, but the blueberry really smoothed it out and it was absolutely delectable. I’m sure I’ll try to replicate it or something like it before too long. Thank goodness the little lady got me a crème brulee kit complete with ramekins and a torch a while back.

All in all, it was a very relaxing time. A great get-a-way. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in the area or just a good break. If you do, mention my name, so I get a credit for the next time I stay there. Thanks… :)

Erin posted some pictures of the trip.
