Pondering Gifting
Well, I feel safe posting this (cause I think she has already left the house and won’t have time to read this until after she actually gets the gift). I got the girlie a new computer. I hope she likes it. Her old one is… well… it is just painful. With her getting internet and whatnot, I thought she could really use a new computer to play with. I’m sure she’ll like it.
But something bothers me. I was picking up the Dell labeled boxes from the front desk and someone asked “You get a new computer?”
My response was a whimsical “Naw, finally broke down and got the girlfriend a new computer.”
To my dismay, the response was a sarcastic “How romantic.”
Then it hit me, would she have preferred something else? I mean, she has told me she wants jewelry, but honestly, that much money on jewelry? Short of a particular item, why would anyone spend that much money on something that one would wear occassionally as opposed to something that would get used daily. It makes no sense.
To make matters worse, I have been teasing her with a “surprise” for the last week or so. I have been taunting her, teasing her and otherwise torturing her with the knowledge that something was coming for her but she couldn’t know what it is. It has been killing her (which I have really enjoyed). But it also forces her to make guesses/assumptions on what it might be. What if she was expecting something like jewelry? Will she be disappointed by a new computer?
Anyways, here’s to hoping she likes it.

in my opinion…jewelry is so overrated anyways…you go out and spend couple of hundred dollars or even a $1000 on a piece of jewelry…and you get no use out of it….and you get tail one nite…woohoo…that much money you should get to pick when and where you get it….jus tell her that you wanted to get her something that she would be able to use from day to day….haha..

Well, I think she will like it but……….jewelry well that is another story……and no it is not overrated. Get tail… what the hell????Don’t give a damn gift expecting something in return…Bev don’t act like your uncle!!!!! hehehehe. She may have thought it was the BIG JEWELRY and if that is the case well good luck to you son. Enjoyed your visit this weekend and don’t worry so much about a gift…it truly is the thought and the time to pick it out that counts. Love ya…Mom.

Well I am here to say that I do like it and I would rather have had this then jewelry. I have been in desperate need of a new computer for quite sometime and I was very very happy to have received it. Sweetie you shouldn’t worry anything you give me will be accepted with happiness and no pouting. Anywho…for the record I absolutely LOVE the computer and I’m using it right now to type this entry. Thanks for the Computer Sweetie. I love you:)….

I got my girl a mac and she loves it. Tech > jewlery
But now she wants to return it ‘cause i got a powerbook, so she wants an ibook ( i got her the mac mini). No virii for her!
What’s a shame is that its getting close to engadgement time, so i gotta save up for ::gasp:: Tiffany’s

It’s getting around that time with me too… But somehow they don’t seem to understand “I can’t afford dinner tonight, I am trying to save up for a ring.” Then that spoils the surprise…
