Well, i am going to be doing some maintenance on the server, which will cause the blog to do down for a while. I hope to have it fixed within a few days. So bear with me while the site will be down.

That’s right, your favorite Bad News Bears are going at it again. We hope to win a game this season, maybe even 2. Hell, if we just are competitive, I’ll be happy.

This year we will be masquerading as the BP Long Fly Balls. However, I have to say, I much preferred some of the other suggestions, including: The Unmolested Alter Boys, The Bello nigerian chimp boys and “Albert Poo holes”.

Translating lunch time conversations to contextual tidbits of reading goodness is harder than one might imagine. Jalapeno was trying to impress us with his currency origami (which he has done many times before) but this one was giving him difficulty. Let’s just say he doesn’t deal well with those situations when people harass him.

He had been trying to show us how to do a dollar bill origami of a t-shirt for the last seemingly half hour. It was practically all lunch. However, he didn’t tell us that’s what he was doing. He did his redneck’s last words Hey, check this out and commenced to the folding. He sat there, furtively folding George W every which way but loose. He then would undo it and refold. A couple times he would think he just about had it, and would command the attention of the table. Then, under the hot beams of the spotlight (or in this case, the ever piercing gaze of Tyrone) Jalapeno would realize there was something not quite right and would insist on a momentary reprieve while he corrected his error. This went on for seemingly days. Wanda, Tyrone, Ponch and myself had been teasing him the entire time about how long he was taking. While we were waiting, Ponch showed us how to make a mushroom with the doller bill. Then this golden quote of the day happened.

And there we have it folks, comedy gold.

I recently received George Strait - Strait out of the Box. I cracked the seal on it today, immediately ripped it all the the hard disk (in case what happened last time happens again) and am now playing the entirity of the box set all the way through. I’m jammin…

As for what happened last time, no one really knows. I speculate that someone loaned out my disks, cause I was missing all 4 of the disks, but still had the box even the jewel cases. Bastiges!

While I’m in the politically charged mood, I found out that we had awarded our first Medal of Honor since 1993. Well, I had to do some research, cause I have never heard of this guy. Sgt. Paul Smith was killed in action April 4th defending his men, his position and his convictions.

The article goes on to talk about his dedication to his soldiers, to his job, to his family. It’s a gathering of eye witness accounts of one of the finest acts of bravery I have ever heard of. Honestly, it made my eyes water.

I know there are probably more like him, doing all they can in the line of duty. This is one of the most moving things I have ever read and I felt obligated to give him what little recognition my small blog can garner.
