Review: Sennheiser RS 45 Wireless Headphones
Well, my headphones went out on me the other day. One of the ear pieces is falling off, I’ve had to resolder the wires several times, they are just falling apart. So I go get some new ones, and thought “wireless, that would be cool”. So I do some quick research, and decide on the Sennheiser ones. These guys are supposed to be the shit when it comes to headphones. Well, that sorta fits…
First off, they are very light. Light is usually good, but when it comes to speakers, light usually means cheap. And that’s exactly what they were. Now, I don’t mean cheap as in price, cause I paid $140 for them, but cheaply constructed.
Secondly, it’s using the 900MHz signal. I guess I never noticed how much static is on that signal, but it’s worse than listening to FM radio. Just full of static.
The speakers are really crappy sounding as well. Just cheap, like paper cones. No warmth to them at all, no base reproduction.
Lastly is the battery life. Initially you have to charge them for 24 hours. That in itself isn’t that dramatic. Each charge to full after that is 14 hours. If that isn’t bad enough, a full charge gets you a little over 4 hours of use. I couldn’t believe that when I read it in teh manual, so I had to test it out myself. I was flabbergasted…
Bottom line, these bitches are going back tonight.
